Infoblox is used in our corporation for IPAM data management. We also use it for DHCP on some occasions, but primarily run Microsoft DHCP. It is being used by the entire IT department to manage our network scopes and is very capable in addressing the problem of having all that type of information documented in one easy to reach place.
  • It creates and manages DHCP scopes very well.
  • It identifies scope usage at a glance very well.
  • It's very reliable and requires almost no maintenance to keep up and running.
  • The interface is a little dated.
  • Some data entry can be more difficult than it has to be.
  • Installation could be a bit more streamlined than it currently is.
Infoblox is well suited for any environment bigger than a small business. Managing network scopes and DHCP is an integral part of running a business and Infoblox IPAM does that quite well. We've never really had an issue with reliability or performance of Infoblox, so I'd recommend this product to any medium to large business looking for a way to manage their network information in one place.
  • Sparing resources for other things, suc as managing IPAM is now pretty easy.
Between Solarwinds IPAM and Infoblox, I'd still choose Infoblox even if Solarwinds is prettier to look at. Infoblox does a fantastic job at managing IP space and really doesn't have much competition in this space. Ease of use, being able to queue changes and having all this done via a web interface that just works is very convenient.
